Ok…..so I’m a little over eager as I’ve not actually been tagged to do this but I saw this over at mummyandbabylife and as a fellow Christmas addict just HAD to take part!
What is your favourite Christmas film?
It has to be Love Actually – I love its randomness and its many depictions of love. I’m not actually into rom-com’s that much but this one I just love – I guess because of the Christmas setting !
Have you ever had a white Christmas?
Yes!!!! I remember one year where my husband and I thought it would be a good idea to walk to his mother’s house on Christmas evening so we could both have a little festive tipple! – however it was about 4 miles away and took hours. I remember it being cold, white and actually good fun looking at everyone’s Christmas lights as we passed….until it came to walking home. Needless to say we didn’t walk back!
Where do you usually spend Christmas?
A mixture. We used to alternate between parents but the past few years we’ve been at home; this year we were invited to spend it with the in laws (hubby’s mum) and as it will probably be the last year that we will go out visiting we accepted the invitation – as next year it will seem too mean to take the bear away from all her presents on Christmas Day. Therefore moving forward, we will be back home for it.
What is your favourite Christmas song?
The Pogues “Fairytale of New York” – it never fails to make me sing along at the top of my lungs – albeit never in tune. I love it and for some reason it always makes me feel emotional.
Can you name all of Father Christmas’ Reindeer?
Absolutely!! There’s a rhythm to it…..Rudolph of course and then Dasher and Dancer, Prancer and Vixen, Comet and Cupid, Donner and Blitzen!
Is your Christmas Tree Real of Fake?
Real!! And this year it’s BIG!!!! In the old house it was fake for a few years just because we didn’t have room for the girth of a real one but it just wasn’t the same, so for the past few years we had a little potted real one called Norbert we brought back inside every year. This year it’s real, it’s 6ft and it’s pride of place in the living room window!!
Do you Dress Up on Christmas Day or stay in PJ’s?
PJ’s in the morning for all present opening….new PJ’s too that we open on Christmas Eve as part of our family box (the box contains new PJ’s for us all, a festive DVD and some nibbles to cuddle up with on Christmas Eve). We then get ready for the day in Christmas Jumpers really – Christmas Day is all about comfort and we need room for that expanding waistline through the day!!
Are you a pro present wrapper – or fail miserably?
Not only am I a pro present wrapper but it seems I am the official family wrapper too as the only thing the hubster wraps is mine! I don’t complain though as I love it – I usually set up camp on the living room floor with a Christmas film or two on and some wine on the go and storm through it all.
Do you make New Years Resolutions? And do you stick to them?
Not anymore……one year I set myself a New Years challenge to run, walk or swim 500 miles in the year. That was actually great fun and better than the usual “I will lose weight / exercise more” etc. I didn’t bother last year though and I’m not sure I will this year either. I’m not a fan of New Years if I’m honest so tend not to do anything to mark it.
What was your most memorable Christmas?
I can’t mention just one . There are too many as I love love LOVE Christmas and they are all equally special to me in different ways. If I HAD to chose though I would say last Christmas as it was the bears first, but I have a feeling it will get better and better each year now that she is with us as she grows and we get to see things through her eyes.
And that’s it….I enjoyed that and I am already feeling more festive!! I’m not going to tag anyone in it seeing as I wasn’t tagged in the first place but I encourage anyone reading to give it a go….so I guess I tag YOU!!!
Even if you don’t write a post – have a think about what your answers would be – did you know all the reindeer???
