So it seems this girl loves a paddling pool! We now know what we’ll be spending our summer doing.
To be fair I think it was she only thing that kept her cool enough yesterday.
…the weather is sweet.
Summer has arrived – hurrah!!
To celebrate, after nursery the bear and I took full advantage by chilling out in the back garden and enjoying the rest of the sunshine.
She was almost a wimblebum in my excitement of receiving our new totsbots package but in her haste mama almost forgot the prewash requirement – doh. As you can tell it’s been a while since we had new ones!! So alas she was a simple night owl instead…..far too hot for clothes (don’t ya just envy them??!!)
We played, we sung and found out that someone is not a fan of cold ice lollies!
All was forgotten 5 seconds afterwards but someone is definately not impressed by that.
So, hello summer and welcome!!! We hope that you stay a while.
Happy anniversary to this pair of crazy individuals….
My parents married 36 years ago today and they are that couple that still walk down the street holding hands (yes, they’re that cute). Now don’t get me wrong they bicker – boy do they bicker – but growing up my parents seemed to love each other more than anyone else I came into contact with (for old people at least).
They’re not perfect but then neither am I – my brothers and I certainly caused enough arguments between them over the years! – but that’s also what makes them special. They’re mine and I wouldn’t change them for the world.
They have taught me that relationships are hard but they’re worth it. They have taught me that it is impossible to be perfect but it is possible to always do your best. They have taught me that you’re never to old to have fun and who cares what other people think. They have taught me that the world is big and to go out and grasp it with both hands. They’ve also taught me on many an occasion that they can STILL drink me under the table and wake up without a hangover! (not that I’m jealous or anything….grrrr).
I love you mama bear and popsicle – happy anniversary. There are not enough words but thank you both for everything you have done over the years and for just being there.
Oh, and also – thank you for hooking up all those years ago, because…..y’know – I wouldn’t be here if you didn’t!! 😉 xxx
So this little lady has been full of beans all weekend – a real joy to be around.
It hit us last night that it was probably because she had both mummy and daddy around her all weekend; a luxury now restricted to the weekend unfortunately. WOW did the mama guilt then kick in (who knew when you had kids, you feel this guilty over EVERYTHING!)
But then we have to remind ourselves that the weekend is so great because we are not together every day. It makes us plan things in as a family, it makes us cherish every moment, it makes us appreciate the little things (even if that’s changing nappies…yes you read correctly!) It makes us enjoy our time together and not wish to be anywhere else other than where we are right at the moment. Together.
So yes, unfortunately we do not get every day together as a family but what it does do is make us appreciate what we have and gives us a beautiful baby bear who loves every moment spent with us – even if we are exhausted by the time Monday morning rolls back around!
I adore weekends and this one was no exception. As working parents we have to make every one count and we do our best to cherish every moment.
This weekend was a lovely mix to activity, people and time at home. It’s been a mad month or two so we had double swimming this weekend with the first session on Saturday followed by some time with GG (Great Grand) who had a birthday in the week. 83 years old and looking amazing. This man is so fit, he seriously puts us all to shame !
Today was similar with swimming in the morning, some errands this afternoon followed by a scrummy lunch out. Then back gone for some lovely chill out time enjoying the back garden before bedtime (which is when the chores commence!)
Absolute bliss …. the only issue is it goes so quickly!! There are no words to describe how much I do not want it to be Monday tomorrow, I keep having to remind myself that to truely appreciate the weekends together we have to experience the working week. It doesn’t quite cut it but it’s worth a try!!
Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you’ve had a good one! Xx
