A Little Bit of Comfort with Idaho Jones

8th March 2018

With an 18-month-old and 3-year-old, we are past the need for a traditional changing bag. As we no longer use the pram day to day, carrying a bag on one shoulder is not only uncomfortable, it also causes an issue when I need to chase after one of them. So, with two children who like to get around – most often at great speed – we are ready for something that is much easier and more convenient. Enter Idaho Jones whose changing bags are also backpacks. Such an amazing idea!

For us, a backpack is perfect. Henry now walks whenever he can so my days of being able to load up a pram are behind me now which means I needed something a little more comfortable that a traditional changing bag. I’ve tried a lot of options over the past 6 months or so – big handbags and even normal backpacks but I missed all the pockets that you get to keep things separate. With one toddler still in nappies and the other that still comes with a lot of stuff, I found myself constantly digging around in the bottom of a bag trying to find what it was I was looking for. I wanted the organisation of a traditional bag but something that suited our life and our adventures a little better.

IDAHO JONES – OUR REVIEW

That is what I immediately fell in love with the Gallivant Baby Changing Backpack. Not only was it comfortable and easy to pop on your back but is had all the little pockets and different compartments that a traditional changing bag has.

I love its uncomplicated design which means my husband is also happy to carry it around. Add that to the amount of room this bag has, and it is a winner with me. It even has straps to attach it to the pram for those rare times that we can convince Henry to use his. That means we can take just one bag out with us which is big enough to hold everything we need and is flexible enough to use in the way we want to for that day. Even if plans change at the last minute.

So, onto those compartments. The Gallivant has an insulated bottle pocket along with three elasticated pockets inside the main compartment. It comes with a waterproof changing pad that sits in a padded sleeve which is also big enough to hold a small laptop or tablet. On the outside there are 2 spacious side pockets, a front pocket to hold all those little bits as well as a velvet lined smaller pocket which is perfect for your phone. Then there are also those Velcro stroller straps which make it easier to use with a pram or stroller. This is what ours looks like in practice:

Finally, the material is wipeable. I can’t express how much of a bonus this is for us seeing as we have a little man that always seems to be sticky. Being able to wipe it down without having to put it through a wash every week is a huge plus.

IDAHO JONES – OUR VERDICT

The Idaho Jones Gallivant is the perfect option for parents like me who have little people that are on the move. People that need plenty of space to carry around everything we need but need to do it in a way that is comfortable and stylish.

So, if this is something that you think you could use, then I am pleased to say that Idaho London have given tippytupps readers a 15% discount on their bags. All you need to do is enter TippyTupps15 at the checkout on the Idaho Jones website to claim your discount. I genuinely think you won’t be sorry as we love ours to the point where all our other bags have been donated to new homes!

  • My feed may be full of hearts and chocolates but there's no doubt that Papa Bear knows me so well! @alexcv8 FEET ❤️
  • This boy ❤️❤️❤️
After a false start at potty training in the new year, he suddenly took a proper interest at the weekend and told us he was going to be a "big boy".
.
Fast forward 5 days and he's not only not had an accident all week, but he's also woke up bone dry every morning AND ditched the dummy. The real test will be out over the weekend, but where has my baby gone?!
  • I love it when the post man brings book treats through the door!! The question is, what do I read first?
.
I really enjoyed keeping track of what I read last year so I thought I would bring that forward in to 2019. Rather than having individual book reviews, I thought I would simply look back on what I read in the past month and share my thoughts. .
Therefore, if you’re looking for some book inspiration, then I've been looking back on January over on the blog today. It's definitely been a bit of a mixed selection…..link in bio.
  • This girl ❤️❤️❤️
Funny and infuriating, loving and volatile. I wouldn't have it any other way.
.
We've had a fabulous birthday party at the ice cream farm today and stretched it out with a trip to Charlie's. If you live our way and have heard of Charlie's then you now know we're a lot lighter in the purse. I hope your Saturday has been a good one!
  • The snow has pretty much dissappeared here now but I can't resist sharing these beauties from my wander through our village on Wednesday. Moooo!!
  • As the country was covered in white today, our childcare was snowed in at home. That left us with an extra day at home and the dilemma of what do you actually do when the dreaded snow day arrives but there is actually work you really do need to do from home?! Is it really possible to work from home and look after small children?
.
That's exactly what I'm chatting a about over on the blog today (link in bio). So, what do you do?
.
Ps. How gorgeous are these two 😍😍😍
