AD – gifted for review. I was provided with the Close Pop-In Playmat in return for my honest review. As always, all opinions expressed in this post are my own.
We were recently given the opportunity to review the Pop-in playmat from Close. This was perfect timing as it came with the arrival of the beautiful weather we have been enjoying over the past few weeks.
First of all I love the print. We were sent a playmat in camper van green and it’s a lovely bright and bold print which is great for both kids. Secondly it’s double sided which is something I’ve not seen before. It has a waterproof and stain resistent side which is wipe clean and great for picnics or generally grubby kids if they’re like mine. However, there is also a soft absorbant fleecy side which is lovely and snuggly to sit on. I’ll be honest and say we’ve not used that side much due to aforementioned grubby kids and the fact I love the bold camper van print so much.
It’s double sided nature means that the playmat is nice and thick. This makes it a little more comfortable than other options available for little (and big!) bums. Although more expensive, we have bought so many of the thinner varieties of the foldaway picnic blankets over the past few years but they rarely last more than a single summer of heavy use.
This is thicker, more comfortable and you can already see that it will be more durable.
EASY TO TIDY AWAY
The pop-in bit comes from the fact that when not in use, it can roll up and there is a pop-in handle that not only holds it all together, but also makes for a useful carry handle. With regards to the practicalities, although bulky it fits under the pram easily or if we’re a little tight on space then this carry handle means it fits over the handle of the pushchair while not in use.
It’s machine washable which is a big bonus as on it’s first use we (and by ‘we’ I mean the kids!) managed to get a good combination of food and drink all over it. However it washed well and doesn’t look or feel any different as a result of a spin in the machine.
As you can probably tell I loved this product. It’s versitile, bright and bold while being both functional and fun. It’s easy to transport and comes in handy for days out.
The Pop In Playmat is available in a range of prints and measures 120cm x 120cm and retails at £34.99. You can take a closer look and get your own online from the Close Parent website.
