If you are a regular reader of the blog then you know I am a big fan of wooden toys, so when the team over at Hape got back involved to try out their Scoot Around I immediately said yes! A lovely 4 wheeled foot powered rider, the Scoot Along is designed to help develop your childs core muscle strength and balance. The idea being that the more strength and confidence they gain, the longer they can ‘scoot around’ until they are ultimately 4 wheeling free!
The Scoot Along arrived really quickly and was well packaged. A little self assembly was required but it was nothing anyone familiar with a little IKEA flat pack would have any issues with. It took approximately 15 minutes to build and then we were ready to go.
I loved the bright green colour and because this is a wooden toy, it felt lovely and sturdy to use. It still has a little wiggle room though so it’s easy for little hands to steer. The viabrant colour made it arractive to both Henry (for who is was intended for) and his big sister who both made a beeline for it as soon as they saw it and I have to say both little testers were more than happy and had loads of fun trying it out.
The only issue is that there is that we only have one of them and the Little Man has a big sister who is happy to make sure this is kept warm and well played with for him.
I love this product. It’s perfect for active play both in the home and out and about in the sunshine. It’s beautifully made and sturdy which makes me confident that it will endue the hours of play my children will put it through. I am sure this will be a big hit with anyone who is a lover of traditional wooden toys.
