I have a little boy that loves trains. And I mean LOVES trains. Regularly in the morning the first thing he says to me is ‘choo choo train’ and demands we go downstairs immediately to set them up. He could genuinely spend all day building tracks and watching his trains go round and round and round all day. Looking to increaase the diversity of his train collection, when the opportunity came up to review the Hape Fantasia Blocks Train we jumped at the chance.
THE HAPE FANTASIA BLOCKS TRAIN
The Hape Fantasia Blocks Train arrived in the usual bright and bold Hape packaging that you come to expect from them. I knew as soon as I saw this that Henry was going to love it and he would have to fight hard to try and keep his sister away from it.
A traditional toy made of wood, I immediately loved how bright and beautiful it was. The collours are fabulous and with a wonderful variety of patters across the blocks, it makes for a toy that is visually very lovely. Made up of 3 carriages that can be moved and switched around, it’s lovely they can be played with seperately or as a whole train. It certainly makes sharing that little bit easier!
14 pieces all made from maple, I love the fact that this is a wooden toy and therefore a more traditional and sustainable option. The nature of the toy encourages creative play, problem solving and developed fine motor skills. The colours and patterns also give parents the ability to take the learning one step further. Talking about the shapes, the colours and the patterns that cover each of the blocks is a wonderful way to take
The best bit though? The fact it comes all ready and assembled so all you need to do it take it out the box and it’s ready to play. Much to Henry’s delight.
A combination of building blocks and trains, Henry has loved playing with Hape Fantasia Blocks Train daily since we recieved it to review. He loves the colours and the irregular shapes means that slotting them together ‘correctly’ is a little challenge for him. One that he dedicates an impressive amount of time to solving.
As his mummy, I love that this is a toy that – alongside plenty of fun for him – makes him work on problem solving as well as developing those fine motor skills. I think this is a wonderful option as a gift, as the traditional materials make a wondeful keepsake toy that will last for generations.
The Hape Fantasia Blocks Train is currently available at Smyths for £19.99.
