Last week was a holiday so this week is technically the first week of maternity leave. 38 weeks pregnant and I’m already starting to get a little bored but trying my best to enjoy the little things like sleep and hot drinks while it lasts!!
The bear is still out and about with grandparents or at nursery Monday to Friday as although I am willing, unfortunately I don’t feel able to run around after her at the moment. SPD and the weight of what feels like the Bean trying to push his / her way out means that I am A LOT slower than usual and extremely uncomfortable and seeing as she usually spends her entire week out and about exploring, it doesn’t feel fair to keep her indoors so much.
This means I’m home alone in the week and so far:
- The house is spotless
- We have spare meals in the freezer
- The nursery is pretty much finished
- The hospital bags are packed
- I’m indulging all my crafty tendencies!
Not a lot actually – mainly just the TV on in the background as I’ve been pottering around…how bad is that?! I’m someone who tends to put on the TV rather than the radio when I come in the house so mainly this weeks it’s been the sounds of Wimbledon!
An actual book!! The Travelling Tea Shop by Belinda Jones which was the July choice of my online book club. It’s not something that I would have usually read but when I looked at how much it was and managed to find it for 1p in hardcopy; I thought why not. I was pleasantly surprised as it was really nice easy reading and I managed to finish it in 3 days – it was a little too neatly finished with all loose ends tied in a bow and some of the characters were extremely 2 dimensional and obviously only there to serve a nice neat ending but if you’re after a nice easy chick lit read that isn’t emotionally draining then it’s definitely worth a look.
The Sewing Bee final – I know I’ve said it before but I love this program and was so happy when Charlotte won. I somehow feel that she is what I will become in years to come and find her bonkers approach to things great fun.
I’ve also been hammering Netflix movies and of course Wimbledon!! It looks like we have another great chance this year….c’mon Andy!!
Quite a few things this week; it’s amazing what you can get done while you are home alone. So far I have:
- Finished Christmas gift which is now bound up ready to go
- Caught up on the beans temperature blanket
- Completed 16 squares done for a mystery blanket CAL
- Made a little crochet pot for the beans nursery
- Framed a few things for the beans nursery and the bears room
- Experimented with kids t-shirts both printed and with felt
- Upcycled some vests into breastfeeding friendly layers
38 weeks turing 39 weeks on Saturday. I initially thought that I’d go early due to the pressure on my cervix that I can already feel but I have a feeling that this will drag out to the very end. Either way within the next two weeks maximum we will become a little family of 4…..eek!!!
