Tonight was another festive calendar highlight as Darcie and Henry’s Nonna and Grandpops arranged with Father Christmas to have Sharon the Elf from Happy Hippo’s deliver a very special Christmas box to her.
It is such a cute idea that basically has an elf come to your home and provide a special treat box from Father Christmas as they have been such a good girl / boy and have made the nice list. While there she reads a lovely Christmas story and has a chat to the child(ren) as they work their way through their boxes.
The box is addressed to the child and contains:
- A selection box
- Reindeer food
- Snowman soup (hot chocolate drink kit)
- Chocolate coins
- A cracker
- A craft kit to make a small wreath with buttons
- A ‘nice list’ certificate from Santa
Although the buttons in the craft kit are a little small for children that may have a tendency to put things in their mouths, it’s actually a really cute little selection of goodies all put together in a shoe sized box.
Unfortunately Darcie is currently a little poorly and therefore not in the best of spirits, this meant that she spent the first 20 minutes staring at Sharon the elf like she had a reindeer sticking out of each ear. She did however enjoy the story from the safety of Daddy’s lap and soon perked up on opening her box and discovering chocolate inside. Oh the wonders of sugar!!!
Henry on the other hand was captivated throughout and seemed to enjoy both the colours and the noises.
So all in all a really sweet way to spend an evening on the run up to Christmas and I can imagine it gets even more exciting and fun the more children are involved; so definitely something to consider doing as some lovely entertainment for the children at a family get together.
