After Darkness Falls Series by May Sage
A cross between Twilight and The Hunger Games, the After Darkness Falls series has kept me happily occupied for the past 10 days. This is a great one for people who love a good supernatural romance.
THE BLURB – BOOK ONE ONLY
They’ve exterminated an entire bloodline, purging the world of the only creatures vampires dread. Or so they think.
Chloe used to study hard, do everything right to pave a bright future, but children sometimes have to pay for their parents’ sins, and Chloe’s tab is pretty steep.
At twenty-six, when a series of attacks forces her to seek refuge in the notorious Institute of Paranormal Studies, Chloe sees it as a second chance to achieve her goals. She believes she has nothing to lose.
She couldn’t be more mistaken.
Levi has had centuries to observe the mortals and immortals of this world. He knows what the sassy woman who entered his domain is at first glance. A relic of the old days, so ancient that even an elder lord descended from the first immortals has reason to fear her.
He should slit her throat while he has the chance.
He should.
AFTER DARKNESS FALLS – MY THOUGHTS
Based in the future during the Age of Blood, supernatural beings – or sups as they are known – have come out of hiding and now live side by side with ‘normals’. They story is set at the Institute of Paranormal Studies in ‘Oldcrest’ Scotland, the After Darkness Falls series follows some of its residents.
Filled to the brim with vampires, witches and werewolves there is plenty of action, conflict, drama and romance. With violence and a boost of steamy bedroom scenes, After Darkness Falls is has strong characters that you won’t be able to resist getting behind. There is no doubt that this series has been a real guilty pleasure for me this month.
Now don’t get me wrong, this series is not going to shake up the literary world any time soon, but I’ve had a great time immersing myself in this world over the past few weeks and getting to know the characters.
What is great though is that although these books work great as a series, they also work well as standalone books too. There is definitely an overarching storyline which weaves between all three books, but there is nothing that you HAVE to know to be able to enjoy each of the books away from each other.
The first three books of the series are out now and available on Amazon, with the first due for release in April next year. I’ve already pre-ordered mine as I can’t wait to see what comes next!
- Book One – After Darkness Falls
- Book Two – Blood of a Huntsman
