We’re not usually ones to celebrate Easter outside of a single chocolate egg gifted on Easter Sunday. However, with the explosion of all things Easter in recent years, we thought we’d make more of an effort this year. Especially as the Bear is currently poorly (again) and so we’re housebound. She’s feeling a little better at the moment so we thought we’d do something together that wouldn’t take long or be too taxing for her. This is when I came across Easter trees.
The tradition of decorationg trees with eggs for Easter seems to have originated in Germany and its practice is centuries old. Though exactly when or why it started does not seem to be known. People hang eggs – with eggs being a symbol of life – on the branches of trees outside or on cut branches inside the home. Inspired by this celebration of life at the beginning of a new spring, we thought we’d give it a go. So, this is our quick and easy guide to making your own Easter tree.
