Helping Your Child Become More Confident
This is a colloaborative post. Thank you for supporting the posts which make this blog possibile.
Confidence can come naturally for some children and they’re able to handle a lot of different challenges, but for other children it can be a bit more of a hurdle they’ll need to overcome as they go through school. If you’re looking for ways to boost your child’s confidence, follow the advice of this private nursery in Letchworth who have given us their top tips.

Appreciate the effort they make
Children are always doing something to impress their parents and friends, but it should never be based on a child’s overall performance. Be proud of them for whatever good they bring into the world and make it known. If your child shows you something that they’re happy with, then show them how proud you are of their work and give them praise for what they’re doing. They’re more likely to remember those moments fondly.
Let them feel comfortable in their own skin
Giving your child choices will help them understand feeling comfortable in what they’re wearing and not what they’re instructed to wear (unless they’re at a wedding, of course!). If a child is given the chance to make their own decisions throughout the day, then they’re learning that their parents trust them and thus be happier in their own skin and what they enjoy. Whether the clothes and food they eat is different to others shouldn’t come into it, for they are exploring what makes them happy.
Avoid making exceptions for your child
If there’s a chance to make your child feel challenged, now’s the time to push them. Challenges will give them a new perspective when it comes to difficult scenarios, but with your motivation you can guide your child through the problem at hand and be their support as they handle them. They won’t learn how to fend for themselves without regular challenges in their life, so try not to push them away from obstacles.
