Important Documents You Can’t Forget
First and foremost, make sure your passport is safely packed and easily accessible. You might be asked for this several times while traveling, especially if you’re about to board a ship or plane. Speaking of which, don’t forget your boarding pass!
In terms of your stay in the Bahamas, ensure that your travel, accommodation, and insurance information is all in order and accessible on your phone.
If it’s a long drive from your drop-off to your hotel, book your transportation in advance so you’re not left stranded for hours when you arrive. Of course, it’s a good idea to have physical confirmation of this on hand, too.
What Clothes Should You Pack for Your Vacation in the Bahamas?
Why go to the Bahamas if you’re not going to take advantage of the beaches in this tropical paradise?
We’ve done the planning for you, so just include the following in your suitcase:
- Two swimsuits (or more depending on the length of your stay)
- Reef-safe sunscreen (one for your body and one for your face)
- A few sets of light, breathable clothing (t-shirts, shorts, sundresses)
- A stylish sarong for post-swim strolling
- A small bag for your valuables
- Flip-flops or sandals to keep your feet cool and protected from hot beach sand
- Comfortable walking shoes for beach town exploring
- A sun-protective hat
- A pair of sunglasses
- A light jacket for cooler evenings
That should be everything you need to exploit the Bahama beaches any time of the day or night!
Toiletries List
Having the right toiletries accessible during your trip makes your vacation and travelling that much more comfortable. While you can pick up a few things during your stay, you can eliminate this stress altogether by packing smartly.
Whether you’ve chosen a short flight or opted for a longer cruise to the West Atlantic in the Bahamas, here’s a list of things to keep close by:
- A disposable toothbrush and some toothpaste
- Hair products (shampoo, conditioner, gel, hairspray, etc.)
- After-sun lotion containing aloe vera
- Deodorant
- A disposable razor
- Hair dryer, clippers, etc.
- A small first-aid kit with band-aids, pain relievers, or any other medication you may need
Essential Electronics You Will Need
Don’t forget your electronics and their accompanying chargers:
- Your phone charger
- Other chargers for packed appliances
- A good pair of headphones
- Your camera (or phone)
- Types A and B plug converters (if needed)
Great Snacks for Traveling
If you’re traveling for more than two hours, always pack a few convenient snacks to keep your energy up.
Here are some things to grab before you leave the house:
- A snack bar
- A packet of salty potato chips
- A bottle of water
- An electrolyte energy drink (helps with nausea and motion sickness)
