What does the future hold for Tippytupps?
I’ve been thinking a lot recently about what this little corner of the internet is going to hold for me. It was created as a space for me to share our lives and those little moments which made our life extraordinary. However, with the Bear now 6 and Henry now in full time education, suddenly sharing so much of them doesn’t seem like the right thing to do any more.
But, I love to capture moments, be it in writing or in image. If you know me then you know that I either have a camera or a pen in my hand at all times, which is why this space has been so amazing. As a creative outlet, over the years it has become my little corner of the internet. I don’t want to lose that.
So, where does that leave me?
This space was always designed to me an extension of who I am. My creative outlet and my little corner of the world. The fact that a handful of people have started to read what I write is amazing – albeit still surprising! – but that isn’t what this space was for. It was for me, to look back on a life that was filled with moments when I’m old and grey and sat in my care home. So, if Tippytupps is me, then who am I?
To be honest outside of the kids, I’m not sure anymore.
Even my name feels distorted, almost unrecognisable when I say it out loud. I think I’m just so used to mummy.
So, that’s what Tippytupps will be…..me!
I love to read.
I love to create.
I love being outdoors.
I love curling up with a good brew.
I love capturing moments with my camera.
And of course, I am a mummy. That will always be first and foremost and will never be forgotten.
So, in theory Tippytupps will be a mix of all those things. Hopefully a pattern will emerge but to be honest, I’m not worried. This space will probably become a little like me: ecletic and a little bit scatty.
I saw this brilliant quote from Matt Haig over on Instagram today and I love it.
“Improve, evolve, do better, but head towards yourself not away.” This. 100% this.
So, over the next 12 months Tippytupps will be following me as I rediscover who I am outside of “mummy”. It will be my hobby and creative outlet, and I hope you stick around to see what I discover.
