hello again….remember us?? #LittleLoves

Wow – so yeah it’s been a LONG time since I did a little loves post. Mid-July in fact. I think time’s just gotten away from me over the summer and before I know it, it’s Monday again and another week is starting. So instead of trying to give a week by week account, this will just pick up with the last 7 days and I’ll try my best to get into the rhythm of posting weekly.

This week has been a good one. Only one day to myself to try and catch up on work but unfortunately that’s pretty standard at the moment. The good thing about that is I am starting to get better at juggling everything and using my evenings more effectively. It’s also easier to prioritise what NEEDS to be done when you don’t have time to do much. Other than work though we’ve been out and about visiting Church Farm on the Wirral, hubby has made the most amazing mud kitchen for the kids to play in and we’ve had a play date, a song and dance class and a (failed) trip to the zoo. Phew! And I guess this week we’ve also said goodbye to summer and move into Autumn….incidentally my favourite season. I just love the colours.

OK, so onto this weeks #LittleLoves:

At the moment I’m reading What Alice Knew by T. A. Cotterell which is actually really great, though I’m getting through it at the slowest pace. Less to do with the book and more to do with the fact there are just not enough hours in the day at the moment to cover everything I need to do let alone the things I want to do for fun!

Although I don’t want to keep looking back over the 6 weeks of #LittleLoves I’ve missed, I did want to quickly mention Final Girls by Riley Sager that I read over the summer because it was a really good one. If you like a good thriller that will keep you guessing then I would totally recommend this.

Pretty much the only thing that stood out for me this week was the bake off. My verdict? the jury’s still out. I thought it was ok. I expected Channel 4 to have put their stamp on it a little more to make it more edgy but obviously with the same production company, it is literally the same show but with 3 different people. I haven’t decided whether that’s a good thing or bad yet but we enjoyed it so we’ll keep on watching. I think I’m more upset that BBC dropped the Great British Sewing Bee because of everything that happened and Channel 4 haven’t picked it up! I loved that show.

Other than that we’ve not really been in the house much this week at all, and when we have it’s been kids stuff on TV. Think Paw Patrol, Blaze and Peppa Pig. However I’m hoping to catch up on Lego Masters tonight. It looks awesome!

This little lady starting to sing the alphabet song in her little singing voice. Honestly it’s the cutest thing ever!

The cutest little concreate pot this week. I’m so pleased with how it came out!!  There’ll be a post coming out on it some time over the weekend I hope, but it was lovely to get my hands dirty again this week and actually make something myself. It was surprisingly easy to do so watch out for the tutorial.

Also it’s not my make but I’m boasting about it anyway, as hubby made this amazing mud kitchen for the kids out of some old pallets. I had high hopes anyway as he’s very handy and awesome at these kinds of things but this surpassed even my expectations. He did a great job!

Flip flops and dresses! I’m not one to give up my flops easily so even though it’s been pouring with rain at times, I’ve not given up on my flip flops!

I’ll be going back to work a few days a week in the middle of September which I’m both looking forward to and apprehensive about. The Bears will be fine as I am extremely lucky and have grandparents that will be helping us but for me, it will be the first time in a formal workplace for over a year. I’m both looking forward to the structure and also worried as to how to juggle it all.

I’ll be keeping my freelance writing clients, continuing the blog and now working part time while also having the kids with me for the 5 days a week I’m not physically in the office. Should make for an interesting situation……who needs sleep right?! It was just too good an opportunity to pass up on though and I’m really excited about it.

And that’s it for me?! What’s your week been like?? A good one or a bit of a mare?
