Our Week 2019 – 19/52

I’m such a bad blogger, I have all these great ambitions of using social media and growing my following etc etc, but in reality, I don’t even get my phone out all weekend. You see, I’m torn about this. On the one hand I’d like to grow this little corner of the internet and to do that you need to engage, engage, engage. However, in practice I see something cute and the first thing I do is reach for my camera and not my phone. So, what I have is an amazing Flickr account with more than 50k pictures stored, but not a lot on social!

Do I want to change that? Well, I don’t know if I’m honest. I like that I don’t immediately reach for my phone but then it’s something I need to start doing – stories, sharing etc – if I want to grow this blog as a business……..kinda a damned if you do and damned if you don’t situation. Anyway, on to what we’ve gotten up to this week.

OUR ADVENTURES

This weekend we popped down to Shrewsbury to their KidsFest festival. It’s the first time we’ve ever been, and I have to say that the kids had the BEST time. I aim to get full post up about it by the end of the week, but it was a glorious day filled with inflatables and fun!

Other than that, we’ve had a pretty quiet weekend with the usual swimming lessons and fun in the back garden. We did have some friends over for lunch who then stayed the day on Sunday. This included the Bears best friend which just meant that she had the best weekend ever! Sometimes all you need is your bestie and a little bit of fun in the sun.

OUR MAKES

If you follow us on Instagram or Facebook (if you don’t already, shameless plug to ask you to head over there!) then you will have seen us make a mess earlier this week. The weather was horrendous, so paints are our go to one days like that. We lay out a HUGE piece of paper and then just have fun making marks with whatever we like. This week it was brushes, rollers and potato stamps!

I’m also so behind on Eleonora’s Changing Tides blanket. If you’ve not seen it already, this is a fabulous CAL available on her blog Coastal Crochet. I am completely in love with her colours but I’m trying to work through my aran stash and therefore am using what I have available. She’s just released week 5 over on her blog and I’ve only just finished week 2 so I definitely have some catching up to do!

Elsewhere Papa Bear has been busy too. If you’ve seen the mud kitchen he made a few years ago then you will know that we love a good upcycle pallet project. This time he put together this fabulous shop for the kids. I can’t believe how easy it was to make so there will be a post coming up in the next few weeks as to how to make your own too.

OUR BEARS

On a whole this has been a great week with the Bears. We had the fantastic news that Henry got in to the same school as Darcie. It’s ‘only’ pre-school but for us that’s fully embedded in the school. I can’t believe that come September I’ll be dropping my two tiny humans off on the school run. Henry for a half day and Darcie for the whole day as she moves up into reception. Before that though we have a glorious summer ahead of us to enjoy.

With the little madam – I won’t lie. Her behaviour has been…..let’s just say a little challenging! I’m sure it’s all very normal four year old stuff. Pushing boundaries and all that, but my goodness it can be tough. There has been a serious amount of deep breaths, counting to 10 and coffee this week!! I saw this meme doing the rounds from This Momming Life earlier this week that pretty much hit the nail on the head!!
