Penrhyn Bay – a weekend away 30/52

This weeks pictures come from a weekend we’ve spent camping. If you’re a regular reader and then you will have seen our top tips for camping with kids. That was glamping in a pod though whereas this was fully fledged camping in a tent! With two kids under three…..go us! We found the cutest little site on Anglesey in Penrhyn Bay which was perfect.

It has all the facilities you need which are clean and well maintained and there is plenty of things on site to do for the kids such as a play park and a small swimming pool but what really sold it to us is the location. The site is literally right on the beach and much to the kids delight, we were on the sand within minutes ready to build sandcastles!

Which is pretty much what we did all weekend. The weather was awful when we arrived and we pitched in the rain. It did break long enough for us to take a lovely walk on the beach before dinner though. The reast of the weekend was glorious and we managed to get a full day of sun at the seaside followed by a bbq back at the tent. Bliss!!

Someone had an amazing weekend. Some friends came with us who have a daughter the same age as the Bear and they spend the entire weekend together having great fun.  It’s amazing to hear the two of them chatting away and playing. I have to say that the world of two (almost three) year olds seems to be great fun!

Be careful what you wish for! After complaining last week that the little man still didn’t quite have ‘mama’ down, he’s more than made up for it this week as it’s all I’ve heard. He’s definately been making up for lost time.  A proper little mimic now we’ve had quite a few ‘cat’, ‘dog’ and what I think was a ‘Darcie’. He’s also popped another tooth this week so we’re on number 7 already!

It’s wonderful isn’t it?! We love Anglesey!

  2. Looks like the ideal getaway for them both despite their different ages. Sometimes it must be difficult finding activities suitable for them both, but this sounds totally ideal for any age! Glad you had a lovely time x

  6. Love the photos. We’ve just got back from 5 days camping in Wales. Beautiful, but the weather was not as we’ve come to expect after our last 2 annual trips. #livingarrows

  7. What lovely photo. Glad you all had a lovely time. I have to say camping is not for me! You are so brave. Not sure how I would manage. #livingarrows

  8. Lovely pictures and sounds like you had a fab time. I really want to go camping with our boys but Gabe’s sleep is still quite rubbish and I’m a little bit scared of how he would cope in a tent! #LivingArrows

  9. My smallest one first word was cat. She learnt it pretty early. Can’t blame her, she was dressed in cat clothes all the time and has cat teddies. #livingarrows
