So last weekend it was landing back from holiday Saturday, a lovely stop over night in our own bed then straight down south for my brothers wedding.
One word: wow !
The bride organised and handcrafted most of the wedding herself with a little help from some family and friends. She managed to turn it around in such a short space of time and you can really see the love she poured into ever aspect of it.
The official bit was the day before so the day was all about the celebration and boy did everyone celebrate! The venue was a scouts hut / camp site / field in Gloucestershire and unfortunately the weather was against them from the start. However it brightened up when it needed to and the rain only added to the sense of fun in what was a very non traditional wedding.
The bride walked down the ‘aisle’ with the children of friends and family and the look on my brothers face was beautiful to see; not a dry eye in the house. The ceremony was a intimate blessing and the exchanging of custom handmade rings came with moving vows written by each of them.
The bear was a hit and it seems she had her first little crush on the singer as she spent the whole time he was performing coyly smiling at him.
I could gush some more and go on but to summarise; there was laughter, tears, beautiful keepsake wristbands, scones, flowers, rain, sunshine, cornish pasties, hugs, kisses and crafts. The boys wore pink and the girls wore blue and everyone who attended couldn’t help but be stunned by how incredibly personal and moving it was.
So to my brother and his beautiful bride, we wish you every happiness and all our love. May every one of your days together contain and love and spirit of your wedding day.
