Christmas Gift Guide for Tweens | 2024
AD | gift guide – I don’t know about you but all this snow has got me really ready for Christmas. So what better time to So, it has finally happened. Instead of a Children’s Gift Guide that is jam packed full of toys for little people, the gifts have gotten much more grown up. Which is why this is a guide with a bit of a difference.
To start with, we have……
COLLECTABLE CARDS
If the kids in your family and friendship groups are anything like mine, they LOVE collectables. For the boy in particular this has grown into a love of trading cards. He has books and books of them and he spends hours working on his collection and trading with friends.
There are so many different types on the market so just find out what is the flavour of the month in their school and pick up a few packs of cards for their stockings. I can guarantee that it will be an instant hit. For the Boy right now it’s either Pokemon cards or football cards so it’s good news that Panini’s Premier League Adrenalyn XL™ is back for it’s 2024/2025 season.
These will not only be heading into the Boy’s stocking, but we’ve also picked up some extra packs for gifts for his best friends too.
GIFT SETS
The Bear is starting to get so grown up and has developed an incredible obsession with skincare so for the first time this year we’re looking at beauty gift sets for her. I really liked this From Nature With Love gift set as it is incredibly sweet and I love how festive the packaging it.
I didn’t want the contents to be too mature for her though so the fact this gift set includes the Basis Sensitive 2 in 1 body wash and a lovely rich body lotion, feels indulgent without being too grown up for her.
THEMED GIFTS
Basically pick and theme and go for it! Both my two still love Harry Potter so I’ve picked up some bits here and there which I will turn into a hamper of themed gifts for the day, So far I have:
- a blanket
- Harry Potter Yoto cards
- some figures to paint
- a Harry Potter diary
I plan to also pick up some smaller bits between now and Christmas such as candles, stationary and other cute bits.
BOOKS
There is no way that I could do a gift guide without including books! My two get at least one every year (and if I am honest, so do I).
This year so far I have picked up Bunny vs Monkey for the Boy as he absolutely loves the Dogman series and this one looked like another one that he would enjoy. For the Bear, we picked up the second book in the Rainbow Grey series as we’ve just finished book one together and she’s desperate to find out what’s in store for the friends in the next installment.
ENCOURAGE HOBBIES
Crafts, sports and of course photography! Whatever hobby the children in your life has, Christmas is a great time to encourage them! I love this Retro Instant Camera as an option for creative children as not only can they explore their love of photography, but they can edit their photos and videos with filters and effects to perfect them before printing. Something they can do instantly on the built-in thermal printer using the sticky paper provided.
FAMILY GAMES
We’ve reached that stage where the kids don’t NEED us anymore, but they do still WANT us around and we are trying to keep that going for as long as possible as we know that the teenage years will be with us before we know it. That’s why taking advantage of this time when they will still play a family game with us is so important.
We were recently sent Sausage Roll from Format Games to review (which was both brilliant and hilarious!) so I thought I would check out some other ones from their range, Both larger games for the whole family, and smaller stocking filler games.
TREATING THEM LIKE A GROWN UP
The Bear in particular has got to the stage where she really is growing up so quickly. Her interest in things like skincare and make up is growing by the day which is why this personalised ceramic make up brush pot is a great option. It is practical, personalised (which is always a great hit), and feels so grown up.
So, those are my suggestions for the tween in your life. Hopefully this gives you a few ideas as to what you could wrap and pop under the tree for them this year,
