When I took the time to look forward as to what I want this year to hold in my 18 things in 2018 post there was a definitely theme of trying to make small changes to make a bigger impact – things like being less wasteful and planning ahead.
A big part of that was to be healthier and to (hopefully!) lose a little weight. I want to do this, less by following a diet but by making small changes that will be sustainable on a long-term basis. So, when JML agreed to send us a product to try I didn’t hesitate in choosing the Halowave Aircooker Deluxe.
COOKING THE AIRCOOKER WAY
I’ve wanted an aircooker for a while now as I love how it’s a more simple and effective way to cook. I love that is needs little or no oil, I love that the heat is instant without the need to pre-heat (saving time and energy), and I love that it cooks so much quicker than my normal oven. The temperature and timer are easy to set and the entire aircooker is intuitive to use. I was eager to get going.
And let me just say it….CHIPS!
I was so excited by the thought of quick and healthy chips that I could make at home for all the family. I’m a true brit at heart and my favourite take out is a good old-fashioned chippy tea. So, I’ll give you three guesses as to what the first thing I cooked was. And they were delicious!
Not only were they quick and easy – just peel and chop the potatoes and cook for 30 minutes in the aircooker – but they tasted great.
That’s not all it can do though. The aircooker can roast, grill, bake, fry and slow cook meals. It even has a rotisserie spindle. I especially loved the fact that the timer has a ‘delay’ function which meant that you can time it to come on while you are at work and have your meal ready and waiting for when you arrive home. Like your slow cooker but with more flexibility to cook different types of meals. Genius!
Clean up is easy too with an easy remove bowl which makes cleaning up after cooking so quick to do. The non-stick surface meaning that minimal scrubbing is required.
One thing I was worried about though was the size. We don’t have the biggest kitchen and I was worried about losing counter space for it. And I was right, it does take up a lot of room. However, when in use it lives on the counter but when not in use, it is put away onto the top of our fridge. Packed away until it’s needed again.
I would say that the Halowave Aircooker Deluxe is a luxury item. You can do everything you can do in an aircooker in a traditional oven. Similarly though, you can do pretty much anything you can do in a traditional oven in an aircooker. The difference being that the aircooker does it better: both healthier and quicker. Therefore, if you have the space, I would definitely recommend one. Ours has replaced both our slow cooker and – in some instances – our oven. And if we had a traditional fryer then I have no doubt it would have replaced that too.
Available on the JML website, the Halowave Aircooker Deluxe to me is the perfect way to make a small change. As a small change like this to the way we cook, in turn can make a big difference to our lives.
