A Castle in a Tin – Review and Giveaway
We were provided with this item in return for our honest review. As always though all opinions are our own. Thank you for supporting the posts which make this blog possible.
If you follow the blog, then you know that we love crafts. So, when the team from Present Mill got in contact to test out one of their ‘in a tin’ range over the Easter holidays, I knew of a couple of little Bears who were more than happy to get involved.
We were sent the “Castle in a Tin” from the range and I was so pleased with the choice, mainly because it is gender neutral. The Bears are currently going through a real “that’s for boys / girls” phase, so I’m doing my best to push their boundaries and accept that boys AND girls can play with anything they choose. The good news is that both were immediately drawn to the castle and couldn’t wait to get started.
IMPRESSIVE DESIGN
First of all, let me say that they can seriously pack a lot in to a little tin! I found the design so impressive as literally every bit of space is used.
At first, I was a little unsure by the number of pieces involved. It felt like a lot to expect little ones to do. However, all the instructions are very clear and each of the pieces slotted together with ease. Step by step – much to the delight of two very excited kids – a castle appeared in front of us.
ADDING THE PERSONAL TOUCH
Once complete, the first thing my two wanted to do was to add their own touches to it. (It took a little blackmail to even get them to pause so I could take a picture.) That was a nice unexpected touch with the Castle in Tin. Because it’s made of plain wood, there is plenty of scope for kids to unleash their inner artists.
THE VERDICT
We really enjoyed making our castle: it was a lovely way to spend a little time making something all together.
I found that it put to use so many skills for them. Puzzle skills, hand to eye coordination, creativity and then of course imaginative play once the castle was built and all the knights and horses had their turn to play.
These would make really lovely gifts. And with such diversity to the range, there really is something for everyone.
