AD – gifted for review. I was provided with these My Fairy Garden items in return for my honest review. As always though, all opinions expressed in this post are my own.

The Bear is a girlie girl. As in a pink glitter, dolls, unicorns and fairy dust. Even at 3 years old she knows her own mind and she knows what she likes. And what she likes is small, cute things and if they are pink? Well, that’s even better. So, when the opportunity came up a few weeks ago to review an item from the My Fairy Garden collection, I knew that she would be estatic.

MY FAIRY GARDEN – FAIRY PICNIC BASKET

The item I chose for the Bear was the My Fairy Garden Fairy Picnic Basket. It contains the fairy Blossom and her little bunny friend, all complete with her very own picnic set.

The Bear loved it instantly. It’s tiny, it’s cute and most importantly for her, it comes with a bunny rabbit. Ever since Easter she has been obsessed by rabbits. We’re still reading We’re Going on an Egg Hunt every night. Snuggle bunny – her very special bedtime rabbit – has been coming with us everywhere. And the song ‘sleeping bunnies’ has been making a regular appearance. So, when she spotted Blossom’s little bunny friend it was an instant hit and they immediately sat down for tea.

The little basket was a perfect carry case. Small and cute enough to pass the Bear seal of approval, but big enough to hold not only Blossom, her little friend and their tea set but also all of the only tiny, cute things that she falls in love with. The perfect fit for the little hands, she has been happily carrying it around to store all her treasures in for the past month. So much so, that it came on holiday to France with us.

THE VERDICT

I have to go with the Bear on this one as if she’s happy, then I’m happy. The My Fairy Garden Fairy Picnic Basket is cute, has a bunny and a fairy dressed in pink. What’s not for a 3 year old to love.

I will say that some of the pieces are really tiny, so much so that I was a little worried about them with Henry but the Bear is really great at keeping them away from him. The bad news though is that the tiny cupcakes have already been lost along with a cup a saucer. That could be due to her age – a 3 year old keeping track of really tiny things is nigh on impossible – but it’s worth keeping it in mind and coming up with a way of keeping all the bits together!

All in all though, this is a great toy for any little girl who loves anything pink, fairy or small. Perfect for imaginative play, kids will get lost for hours in a tiny fairy world full of fun and adventure. A great way to start your My Fairy Garden collection or to add to one you already have. The Fairy Picnic Blanket is currently available on Amazon for £12.11 (affiliate link).

  1. this is so cute! I know my Amelia would love something like this x

  2. I’ve seen these on tv. Arya is too young to see whether she’s a girly girl yet, I’m hoping for a little bit of girly atleast!

  3. How sweet! I would be worried about the smaller pieces as well, but as long as the children are supervised I see no issues! Great review 🙂
