Chunky Wrist Warmers | Free Knitting Pattern
The boy bought me the most beautiful ball of super chunky wool for Christmas which was simply beautiful but sadly only 100grams. Therefore there was one thing I thought would be the perfect use for it: a pair of super chunky wrist warmers!
I am usually found with a camera in my hand so full gloves are not a good fit for me but I do love wrist warmers, keeping my hands warm but my fingers free. This pattern is literally the easiest pattern ever but I have made three pairs in 2026 on request from others. So, although they are simple, they are very effective!

Materials
- 100g of super chunky wools of your choice
- 10mm needles (or DPN’s)
- Tapestry needle for sewing
The Pattern
- Cast on 20 stitches
- Work K1, P1 rib for 12 – 15 cm
- Cast off
- Seam the side, leaving a thumb gap

That is it – I told you it was simple! Literally knit a rib rectangle and then sew the seam leaving a gap for the thumb but you don’t want to know how many times I’ve been asked questions like “how many stitches should I cast on” or “how long should I make them”. So, this is a summary or what worked for me for a super cute pair of chunky wrist warmers. Enjoy!
As for my Rainbow Wrist Warmers……well the Bear decided they looked much better on her!
