AD | Cutting the grass with the Casdon Flymo Lawn Mower
The sun is shining which means we are spending as much time as possible in the garden. We’re so lucky to have a garden to enjoy at a time like this and the kids love nothing more than helping us. Picking flowers, planting vegetables and of course helping us to cut the grass.
So, when Casdon offered to send us out a Flymo Lawn Mower, I knew a pair of little Bears who would be more than willing to put it to the test.
The Casdon Flymo Lawn Mower
Casdon allow children to play with household names. This means playing with toys that look exactly like those their grown-ups use too. This simple thing means the world to children. They learn through play and by copying the people in their lives.
Not only is it the iconic bright orange and grey, but it also has the famous dome design and Flymo logo. With a cute little clicking sound when you push it along, the kids loved ‘cutting’ the grass.
The Flymo Lawn Mower comes almost fully assembled, with only the handle to be slipped into place. Once done though, it is ready to play. I will say though that the handle is the only thing that falls a little short with this mower as it felt a little lightweight. It’s still robust enough to use and feels like it will stand up to a serious amount of play, but it’s the only thing that falls a little short of the great quality of the rest of the toy. What I did love about the handle though, is it has two settings on it which allows you to flatten the mower for easy storage. With a garage as full of car parts, bikes and toys as ours is, that is a very good thing!
All in all, the kids absolutely loved this. They had a blast racing around the garden with it. So much so, that it caused serious arguments over whose turn it was next. Serious praise in our house!
This is a really sweet toy, and no doubt one they will enjoy summer after summer. What I really liked about it though is the simplicity of it. It brings so much fun simply through the art of imitation. It doesn’t draw on gender stereotypes – no pink or blue in sight. Instead this mini replica allows children to be just like the grown-ups in their life.
We’ve had a few cheaper toy lawn mowers over the years, and this is superior in every way you can imagine.
